Romanian Law on Local Food Promotion 2016
Dear Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs,
Under the right of access to documents in the EU treaties, as developed in Regulation 1049/2001, I am requesting documents which contain the following information:
In 2015, Romania introduced a law which required large supermarkets to sell 51% of local food products. This was found to be in breach of EU single market legislation. (See the following article for example:
https://www.foodnavigator.com/Article/20...)
According to another newspaper article, the infringement procedure was stipulated via a EU Pilot complaint. („La 28 iunie, chiar înainte de promulgarea legii, Comisia Europeană a adresat autorităților române o solicitare de informații cu privire la noile reglementări, conform sistemului EU PILOT“., please find the source here: https://www.profit.ro/stiri/economie/exc...)
Could you please provide me with the complaint under the EU Pilot procedure that triggered the aforementioned infringement procedure?
Yours faithfully,
Moritz Neujeffski
