We refer to your e-mail of 17 March 2021 in which you make a request for
access to documents, registered on 18 March 2021 under the above mentioned

Dear [email address],

Regarding your request for clarification concerning my access to document request "Third-parties work in relation to NextGenerationEU", and in particular the point related to correspondence, I'm interested in the following documents:

- Corrispondence between DG ECFIN (including the Commissioner and his Cabinet) and the six abovementioned consulting firms, concerning the EU initiative "NextGenerationEU" and its components ("Recovery and Resilience Facility" and "ReactEU").

I am interested in correspondence between the above parties, regardless of the individuals concerned.
I believe my request is sufficiently precise to allow you to handle it according to the relevant Regulation.

Given that such EU initiatives are relatively recent, and that I am only interested in exchanges with those six consulting firms, I do not expect my request to lead to a very large number of documents.
Nevertheless, should that be the case, it is okay with me to be granted access on a rolling basis, once a list of the identified documents will be produced.

Yours sincerely,

Alessandro Runci

Dear Sir,

We refer to your e-mail of  17 March 2021 in which you make a request for
access to documents, registered on 18 March 2021 under the above mentioned
reference numbers.

Your application is currently being handled. However, we will not be in a

limit of 15 working days, which expires on 13 April 2021.

An extended time limit is needed as the application concerns documents
held by different Services which must be consulted.

Therefore, we have to extend the time limit with 15 working days in
accordance with Article 7(3) of Regulation (EC) No 1049/2001 regarding
public access to documents. The new time limit expires on 4 May 2021.

We apologise for this delay and for any inconvenience this may cause.

Dear Mr Runci,

We are assessing currently your request, regarding correspondence with
external consultancies. Despite your below email, dated 19 March, we would
have a few questions to clarify the scope of your request, which would
help us to answer it rapidly within the deadline set.

Would it be possible to talk to you personally? This entails, of course,
no risk for you to give up on your guaranteed rights under Regulation No
1049/2001.

If so, would you pls give details (telephone number), under which our
Legal Coordinator would call you as soon as possible. Pls respond to this
email directly, if you want to avoid that your telephone number becomes
public on the Ask-the-EU-platform. As regards the Commission, your private
details are protected under the EUDPR 1725/2018.

Thank you in advance,
