Dear Euro-Ombudsman,
In the decision 1061/2019/FP the Ombudsman recognises that greater transparency concerning expenses incurred by EU officials enhances citizens’ trust in the EU institutions. For this reason, the Ombudsman suggests that OLAF takes steps to review its policy and consider implementing more transparent approach in relation to travel expenses which are not incurred in the course of investigatory activities. In particular, consideration should be given to regular proactive disclosure of the Director-General’s expenses.
more transparent approach in relation to travel expenses which are not incurred in the course of investigatory activities, proposed by the Decision - does it concern exclusively Director General expenses ? is it allowed to request information about the expenses of other staff not incurred in the course of investigatory activities?
the Decision proposes regular proactive disclosure of the Director-General’s expenses; where and when it is published? does it concern exclusively the expenses of the Director-General ? does it concern also other persons like those assisting the Director general? or those representing him in performance of his competences?
Yours sincerely,
Barbara Pelo

Dear Euro-Ombudsman,
Could you please forward my request to the Institution that could reply my question?
Yours sincerely,
Barbara Pelo
Dear Ms Pelo,
We believe that the institution concerned is better placed to reply to your general enquiry.
You may consider contacting OLAF about the travel expenses incurred by its staff. If you wish to pursue the matter further, you can find OLAF's contact details here:
https://ec.europa.eu/anti-fraud/contacts...
Finally, please note that there is no legal basis for the Ombudsman to transfer citizens' general requests and enquiries to other institutions.
Best regards,
Tereza Mandjukova
