What (mathematical/computer) Models are used to assess policy options?

Ihre Anfrage war teilweise erfolgreich.

Dear Community Fisheries Control Agency,

Under the right of access to documents in the EU treaties, as developed in Regulation 1049/2001, I am requesting documents which contain the following information:

Often mathematical or computer simulation models are used by authorities to assess the impact of various policy options as part of the decision-making process.

Can you tell me:

1. The title and purpose of any such models used by the CFCA

2. Whether the code/structure of these models are open to outside scrutiny at all (or even publicly available)?

Yours faithfully,

Bruce Edmonds

Dear M. Edmonds,

Thank you for your e-mail regarding the access to documents of the 28
November 2013 that was registered with the number A-01267.

In relation to your two questions, the EFCA is using two of such models.
The first one has been used for assessing the cost of control operations
under the Joint Deployment Plans.  The second model is used for carrying
out regional risk analysis.

The two tools are still under discussion with Member States involved in
the project.

Thank you for your interest in the work of the EFCA.

Kind regards,

[1]Patricia SANCHEZ
