TEHDAS representatives stressed the importance to also have cross-sectoral sharing of data and 
outlined the progress of the Joint Action towards a European Health Data Space. They enquired 
about plans for the governance of the EHDS and implications for existing national systems to 
provide access to data for research. 
 
CAB expressed gratitude for the TEHDAS contribution in the preparatory work. It is too early to 
say anything definitive on the content of the proposal as impact assessment and other internal 
steps still need to be done. However, the governance model will be key to ensuring a 
trustworthy framework. This is also important to ensure ECDC and EMA have access to real 
world data, as has been shown by the pandemic. 
CAB encouraged TEHDAS to progressively adjust its focus to actually support the 
implementation of the EHDS, also as regards standards on data quality and interoperability.
