Dear Mr Fanta,
We refer to your email of 25 April 2022 with which you introduced a request for access
to documents, registered on 29 April 2022 under the above-mentioned reference number.
By your application, you requested access to the following:

Under the right of access to documents in the EU treaties, as developed in Regulation
1049/2001 as well as under 2003/4/EC, I am requesting documents which contain the
following information:
- All documents regarding a March 14 meeting between officials at DG ENV, DG
CNCT and DG ENER as well as member state representatives on a possible initiative
on crypto-currency (Bitcoin) mining using the proof-of-work method. My request is
meant to include e-mails, meeting minutes and other documents relating to the
initiative.’
Due to the scope of your request, it has also been attributed to the Directorates-General
for Environment (DG ENV) and Energy (DG ENER).1 This reply relates only to the
remit of the Directorate-General for Communications Networks, Content and
Technology (DG CNECT).
