Dear M. Antunes,

As the Association representing the leading gas Distribution System Operators (DSOs) in France,
Greece, Ireland, Italy, Portugal, Romania and Spain, Gas Distributors for Sustainability (GD4S) is
committed to the decarbonisation of the economy and to promoting the potential of renewable
gas and gas grids.  Together, we are committed to improving the sustainability of our business
operations, focused on a shared drive towards a reliable, safe, and sustainable future gas
network.   As a group, we are united in contributing to the European objective of carbon neutrality
by 2050.

On February 18th 2022, GD4S releases its first ‘Sustainability Charter’ (link), clearly defining the
Association’s collective approach to sustainability. Written jointly by our seven member DSOs, the
Charter highlights our commitments across the three sustainability pillars of Environmental, Social
and Governance, all of which are aligned with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals
(SDGs).). The Charter will be formally presented on March 15, 2022, during a dedicated online

event with Diederik Samsom, head of cabinet of Executive Vice-President Frans Timmermans as
special guest. We would be pleased to welcome you to this event. You can found the register link
on the event page.

In presenting our commitments, all of which will be monitored and measured against scheduled
reporting principles, we are establishing our sustainability ambition.  Our intention is to reflect
upon our role in energy transition and focus on the areas where we can apply the most direct
influence. As Distribution System Operators (DSOs), we are eager to work with the various
stakeholders to achieve this. We recognise our responsibility to act and leverage GD4S in a
collaborative way to nurture positive change and we hope to inspire other organisations, to step
towards a more comprehensive and inclusive sustainability model.

It is our collective hope that the GD4S Sustainability Charter will enhance your understanding of
our sustainability ambition.  The representatives of the association would welcome an opportunity
to meet with you, to further outline these commitments, at a time convenient to you.

In the interim, please feel free to contact us for any additional information you may need about
the Sustainability Charter and our Association.

Yours respectfully,
