Dear Frans,
I would like to thank you for taking the time to meet with me during the WEF in Davos. I
very much enjoyed our open and engaging conversation as well as the opportunity to
share perspectives on key topics to support energy security while accelerating the
energy transition.
On security of supply, I look forward to hearing more around the LNG consortium that
you mentioned and review potential participation by bp.
On the energy transition, besides discussing the growing need for SAF and the likely
increase in SAF blending ratios, I was particularly encouraged by your vision on the
importance of building a hydrogen network worldwide and on hydrogen’s role as part of
the clean future for Europe. At bp, we are very much aligned on hydrogen’s critical role,
particularly for the decarbonisation of hard-to-abate sectors. As discussed, we believe
there is still much work to do around the challenge of hydrogen seaboard transportation
and the development of technology that will enable European imports to be
competitive. We are keeping this at the top of our agenda and we are hopeful that the
EU will do as well.
I was also very pleased to hear that our Economics and Insights team had a very good
exchange with your team recently. We will continue to help and support wherever we
can.
I am looking forward to keeping an open dialogue with you and would very much
welcome the opportunity to meet you again in Brussels and or together with
.
Thanks again for your time.
Best,
