Dear Director General,
We had a fruitful exchange last 17 May about security of supply, gas prices, US LNG and biomethane and we
proposed to send you more detailed information on those topics.
To that respect, you will please find enclosed 4 memos:
. one with our views on the supply of US LNG today and in the coming years, the role of FERC in the approval
of new projects as this was one of your questions, and some ideas to strengthen the LNG trade between US
and EU
. the second one on some topics the EU Energy Platform, its Advisory Group of industry experts and the
Energy Platform Task Force could envisage to secure more LNG supply towards Europe and reduce price
volatility
. the third one on the EU Biomethane potential and ways to unlock it as quickly as possible
. the last one focusing more on the treatment of digestate, by‐product of the methanisation and currently a
major bottleneck for biomethane production increase.
