Dear
,
On behalf of Executive Vice-President Frans Timmermans, I thank you for your letter of congratulations and
your invitation.
Unfortunately, Mr Timmermans will not be able to attend the AmCham EU Annual General Meeting due to a
very constraint agenda in June 2020.
However Mr Diederik Samsom, Head of Cabinet, would be available, should you wish. If yes, could you please
send the date of your Annual General Meeting.
Kind regards,
 Executive Vice-President Frans Timmermans

Dear Executive Vice-President Timmermans,
On behalf of the American Chamber of Commerce to the European Union (AmCham EU), we would
like to congratulate you on your confirmation as Commissioner and First Executive Vice-President for
the European Green Deal. Together with all the other Members of the Commission, you have a
unique role in shaping policies that will make a real difference in the lives of European citizens
through your work on the European Green Deal and on climate action.
In attachment, please find a congratulatory letter together with our vision document, the Agenda for
Action, that identifies four key action areas that we believe should drive the political agenda over the
next five years. A hard copy of these documents has also been sent to your office and should arrive
soon.
We look forward to engaging constructively with your team and the College over the coming years
and, in this regard, we would like to request a meeting with you or your team to discuss future
engagements with AmCham EU and our members in the coming months.
AmCham EU will hold its Annual General Meeting in June 2020 and we would like to offer you a
platform at this event to share your priorities for your term as Executive Vice-President. We would
be delighted to hear your views and discuss with you on how business can help you deliver on the
‘European Green Deal’. Our Annual General Meeting is an action-oriented day that would provide
you with an opportunity to also engage with senior representatives from American companies
operating and investing in Europe.
Looking forward to hearing from you. I wish you a happy and relaxing holiday season.
Best Regards,
