Ref. Ares(2016)2419062 - 25/05/2016
BTO report of meeting of the ISG on cloning (28/08/2012)
Present:
 (SECGEN),
 (DG AGRI),
 (DG TRADE)
 and
 (DG SANCO)

Subject: Examination of GHK draft revised interim report (16.08.2012)
Main comments from other DGs:
  All participants in favour of keeping the approach foreseen by the terms of reference
of the study: assessment of each individual measure of the 4 approaches (suspension,
traceability, traceability and labelling, pre-market approval).



  The findings and data collected during GHK interviews should be integrated in the
report and be used to elaborate and assess possible measures:

  Economic impacts and cost estimates are missing at this stage (intended for final
report only).

Conclusions


  GHK report should integrate data and findings collected by GHK and elaborate
measures and scenario to be assessed; therefore the report needs to be largely revised.
  The timeline for the draft final report (end of August) and of final report (end of
September) is not compatible with the amount of work necessary to provide a valuable
report (to provide more time to GHK).
  The Steering Group advises to give more time to the consultant to improve the report
in order to ensure that appropriate information is made available to write a good
Impact Assessment. In the absence of such information, delays are likely to occur at a
later stage.
  Next meeting of the IASG on Wednesday 5/09 planned to examine i) the draft final
report sent by GHK, ii) the data collected by GHK on traceability aspects
