Dear Mr
,
Thank you for your letter of 23 February 2018, presenting the position of BP on the
treatment of renewable hydrogen used in refineries.
I have read your letter with interest and I welcome the commitment of BP to contribute
towards the discussion on the future renewable energy policy in the transport sector. As
you know, the proposals of the Clean Energy for All Europeans package are now subject
to the co-decision process between the European Parliament and the Council. Both the
European Parliament and the Council have adopted their initial positions on the proposal
for the recast of the Renewable Energy Directive. The Commission is fully committed to
provide the necessary assistance so that the Renewable Energy Directive and the whole
Clean Energy Package underpin the ambition and the leadership of the European Union
in the entire renewables sector.
I would suggest organising a meeting with the team of Mrs
the Director for Renewables, Research and
Innovation, Energy Efficiency for more in-depth discussion on these issues you have
raised.
Yours sincerely,
Dominique Ristori
