Meting with Transport and Environment
COM (
) met with Transport and Environment on 7 June 2018 at their request to discuss the
state of play of the UNCITRAL discussions on a multilateral reform of ISDS.
T&E shares the view that the process is moving forward at good pace but has questions on how
discussions will be organised under step 3 of the mandate (design of possible solutions to reform of
ISDS). T&E underlined the importance that the public opinion angle be duly reflected in the reports of
the meetings and expressed certain concerns about regional inter-sessional discussions in relation to the
necessary participation of NGOs in the process.
