REMARKS:
Annexed to this note is an
argumentaire setting out the main advantages of establishing a
permanent two-tier system as opposed to an appeal mechanism only, in view of the next
meeting of UNCITRAL Working Group III (Investor-State Dispute Settlement Reform)
that will take place on 29 October to 2 November 2018 in Vienna.
Member State delegates are informed that EU co-ordination meetings are scheduled
every morning in room C0229 at the Vienna International Centre at 8.30 am. Information
on these meetings has also been sent out via the Agora system.
Member States which still have not done so are requested to inform the Commission of
their delegates to UNCITRAL Working Group III and to provide their contact details,
particularly mobile phone numbers on which their delegates could be contacted during
the UNCITRAL meeting. Member States are invited to send these details (name, e-mail
and mobile phone number) by e-mail to
