Prot. 324/LV
Dear Vice-President,
Dear Commissioner,
On the revision of the Writ en Statement Directive, after having discussed the consultation document set forward by you
in the second stage consultation of social partners with our constituency, I would like to inform you that the UEAPME
General Assembly adopted its mandate for entering negotiations today.
Our mandate gives us the possibility to conclude an agreement with regard to any of the elements set out in the European
Commission’s document as long as it respects the nature of the current directive and takes into account the flexibility
needs of SMEs, in particular of micro-companies, and excludes self-employed which have to remain outside the
employment relationship between employers and workers.
We are awaiting the response of ETUC, which we hope wil be a positive one.
Yours sincerely,
Véronique Wil ems.
