Agenda - Kadin Brussels Grand Opening (9 October 2017).pdf
Today I participated at the opening event of the KADIN representation office in Brussels (programme
attached). This KADIN "Business Support Desk" is housed in the offices of Ridens Public Affairs, and will
be chaired by 4.1(b)
, a consultant/lobbyist with several hats (e.g. also lobbying for
EMOTA).
The event gathered some 30 industry representatives and people from KADIN and the Indonesian
embassy. KADIN delivered a general investment promotion talk, but there was also quite some room
foreseen to present the FTA/CEPA.
As the KADIN Chairman and vice-Chairman had to leave early to attend the ceremony with VP Ansip and
VP Kalla, all ensuing Q&A were about CEPA and touched upon EU standardisation processes, the new ICS
approach, EU SPS barriers on tea, the prospect for services, the inability to set up rep offices in
Indonesia, main hurdles expected for CEPA etc.
