Dear Ms Malmström,
Last month, members of the United Nations negotiated elements of a binding instrument on
business and human rights in Geneva. Before the meeting, it seemed as a window of
opportunity to go beyond mostly voluntary means as established by the UN Guiding
Principles on Business and Human Rights. What are the results of this meeting? Is the
window of opportunity still open? And how about the position of the European Union?
We will discuss these questions at our upcoming sef: Policy Lunch on 20 November 2017,
hosted by the Development and Peace Foundation (sef:) and the International Alliance of
Catholic Development Agencies (CIDSE).
Speakers already confirmed are Art.4.1(b)
