Subject:  Your  application  for  access  to  documents  containing  information  on  the 
travel expenses of ERCEA's Director for the period 1.1.2017 to 31.12.2018 
 
Dear Ms. Ortiz, 
Thank  you  for  your  e-mail  dated  30/01/2020,  registered  on  30/01/2020  under  reference 
number Ares(2020)590170, requesting access to documents containing the information on the 
travel  expenses  of  ERCEA's  Director  for  the  period  from  1  January  2017  to  31  December 
2018 inclusive. 
More  precisely,  you  have  asked  for  "documents  that  contain,  for  each  of  the  trips,  the 
following information: 
- Place of origin and destination, and the amount spent on travel or transportation; 
- Exact dates and duration of the trip; 
- Amount spent on accommodation; 
- Amount spent on subsistence; 
- Other information, such as possible miscellaneous costs". 
In addition, in case of "travel was by air taxi and a team of people were travelling", you also 
requested access to "the documents with details on the other travelers (at a minimum, names 
and job titles)". 
We  have  assessed  your  request  under  Regulation  (EC)  N°  1049/2001  of  the  European 
Parliament and of the Council regarding public access to documents.    
We  considered  that  your  request  had  to  be  analysed  also  in  light  of  Regulation  (EU) 
2018/1725  on  the  protection  of  natural  persons  with  regard  to  the  processing  of  personal

data by the  Union institutions,  bodies, offices  and agencies and on the free movement  of 
such data, and repealing Regulation (EC) No 45/2001 and Decision No 1247/2002/EC. We 
have,  then,  requested  Mr.  Amor  whether  he  would  consent  to  the  provision  of  certain 
personal  data  categories,  namely  the  disclosure  of  the  place  of  destination  and  the  exact 
dates of the trips.  
We enclose a copy of the document, providing a complete overview of all travel expenses of 
the former ERCEA's Director, Pablo Amor, for the requested period, and which includes the 
information you requested and to which Mr. Amor had not objected to its provision to you, 
for  the  purpose  mentioned  in  your  e-mail  dated  30/01/2020.  Please,  be  informed  that  there 
were no expenses related to air taxi travelling.
