Issues raised
COVID19 preparedness in the gas sector, joint scenarios and future followup.
& followup
x ENTSOG confirmed that the system works as usual. They highlighted that they
keep regular contact with TSOs and DGENER, in particular with the
participation in different meetings such as the GCG web conference of 19th
March or the telco with Energy community.
x They foresee no stress events and no risks for security of supply in the sort and
medium term.
x They presented their toolbox of measures sent to TSOs and the main ones
implemented, such as health screening, backup teams or postponed
maintenance.
x In the short term they do not see any particular concerns due to the restriction
of free movement of goods and people or due to the delay of certain works, but
this should be further analysed for the long term.
x ENTSOG also referred to the potential contribution of the sector for recovery,
notably through 45 energy transition related projects and a strong focus on
digitalisation.
x ENTSOG pointed out that they are working on the consultation of the joint
scenarios for the TYNDP, which will be ready after Easter.
x It was highlighted that there are no gas supply concerns, not only because of
the low demand but also because of the high gas storage levels and a
surprisingly high number of LNG cargoes arriving in the EU (in spite of prices
being lower in the EU compared to other destinations). The very high sendout
from LNG terminals is to some extent compensated by an observed increase on
the demand side of trucks filled with gas.
x ENTSOG pointed out that they will draw lessons and improve business
continuity plans accordingly.
x Active communication will continue, particularly in case of appearance of new
risks or alerts.
