Under the internal procedures, searches will be made in
management system
Omnia/Elys II, which covers SIS and ASF, prior to
opening a new case, in order to avoid duplicates and
circulations going unnoticed. There is also an internal
procedure for international circulations called
Circulation procedures IP-SIRENE. The NCIS is working
continuously to enable integrated working processes
that ensure sound case handling.
Interconnecting Omnia with SIRENE case management
system has been considered, but we decided ot to do it
now, due to cost issues and the fact that the SIRENE
solution is relatively new and modern. The internal case
handling procedures ensure that all ongoing cases,
including SIS circulations, are handled properly.
