Dear
Please accept this e-mail as confirmation that the meeting date/time of 26 June at 10:30 via
Webex will work quite well for us.  I look forward to receiving more details and will follow up
separately with a list of participants from our end.  In addition to 1 or 2 Endocrine Society staff
representatives, we will have up to 4 expert endocrine scientists for total participation of
approximately 6 individuals.
With appreciation,

Dear Commissioner Kyriakides

Endocrine Disrupting Chemicals (EDCs):
The Endocrine Society requests meeting with Commissioner for EDC scientists and
clinicians

Following our postponed meeting originally scheduled for 20 March, I write on behalf of
the Endocrine Society to ask whether it is now possible to schedule a new date for a
meeting by video conference with the same small group of EDC expert scientists and
clinicians who are members of our Society’s EU EDC Task Force.

We would appreciate the opportunity to offer an update of the latest science on EDCs as a
contribution to the EU policy decisions currently under debate which will address
endocrine disruptors (EDCs), such as the EU Chemicals Strategy for Sustainability and the
non-toxic environment programme, as well as the Beating Cancer Action Plan.

In particular, in view of the current health crisis, we draw your attention to the impacts of
EDCs on diseases such as diabetes and other health conditions that cause immune system
dysfunction and increase our susceptibility to  COVID-19 and future pandemic disease.
(See links here and here).  We therefore believe that reducing our continued exposure to
these harmful chemicals is one vital part of preventative measures to protect public health
for the future.

We look forward to your response and to our rescheduled meeting at your convenience.

Sincerely,
