Poultry Welfare at Slaughter

The request was successful.

Dear Health and Food Safety,

Under the right of access to documents in the EU treaties, as developed in Regulation 1049/2001, I am making a freedom of information request.

In 2015, the FVO released an overview report of animal welfare at slaughter (Ref. Ares(2015)4056423 - 01/10/2015). In it the FVO outlined that, "Eight out of thirteen Member States audited received a recommendation to address failures to apply electric stunning parameters for poultry."

For these 8 member states what follow up action has been taken? Could you kindly provide me with any reports relating to this and any supporting evidence that indicates member state compliance?

Your assistance would be most appreciated,

Yours faithfully,

Kunal Solanky

Dear Mr Solanky,

We refer to your e-mail dated 1 September 2020 in which you make a request
for access to documents, registered on the same date under the above
mentioned reference number.

Your application is currently being handled. However, we will not be in a
position to complete the handling of your application within the time
limit of 15 working days, which expires on 22 September 2020.

An extended time limit is needed as some of the documents requested
originate from third parties which have been consulted.

Therefore, we have to extend the time limit with 15 working days in
accordance with Article 7(3) of Regulation (EC) No 1049/2001 regarding
public access to documents. The new time limit expires on 13 October 2020.

We apologise for this delay and for any inconvenience this may cause.

Yours faithfully,
