Dear all,
With many thanks to
, below a short recap of Monday’s call with Hydrogen Europe.
Best regards,
Call with Hydrogen Europe
13 July 2020
Hydrogen Europe:

DG GROW: Kerstin Jorna,

This call was organised to follow up on the kick-off meeting of the European Clean Hydrogen
Alliance on 8 July.
· Hydrogen Europe thanked the Commission for the organisation of the kick-off meeting of the
European Clean Hydrogen Alliance and reported very positive feedback from industry CEOs.
· Tight timeline and last minute organisational changes brought difficulties – let’s try to avoid in
the future.
· Hydrogen Europe appreciates the call for transparency of the alliance and fully agrees on the
importance of involving civil society organisations closely in the alliance.
· For the operational roundtables, they would envisage discussions on CEO level with a
transparent process for the selection of “speakers” to represent the roundtables in the high-
level progress meetings with the Commission. As technical expertise is also required,
registration of ‘non-CEO’ expert representatives also seems necessary.
· Hydrogen Europe would highly appreciate the participation of Commissioners/Director-
Generals in the roundtable meetings.
· Kerstin Jorna underlined that the governance of the alliance needs to based on openness,
transparency and inclusiveness. The process and the operational arrangements need to be
carefully organised to ensure full openness and transparency. COM will act as a facilitator.
Next steps:
· GROW to come back to Hydrogen Europe regarding governance of the Alliance; we asked for 2
weeks to allow for further internal reflection
· GROW to further consider on best way to involve Cssrs and the MEPs in the work of the
Alliance
