Dear Madam,

Subject:       Your application for access to documents – Ref GestDem No
2018/1849

We refer to your e-mail dated 27/03/2018 in which you make a request for
access to documents, registered on 28/03/2018 under the above mentioned

Your application is currently being handled. However, we will not be in a

Estimada Sra. Pardo Vela,

Atentamente,

Dear Ms Pardo,

Thank you for your reply.

Concerning Cyprus, could you please let us know whether you mean the
United Nations facilitated bi-communal Committee on Missing Persons (CMP)
and the Aid Programme for the Turkish-Cypriot community?

As for other countries, it seems that your question would rather relate to
a disappearance of persons related to criminal offence?

Thank you in advance for your explanations.

Dear Humanitarian Aid and Civil Protection,

thank you for your reply.

It is right. I was refering to both programmes (CMP and Turkish-Cypriot community Aid) related to missing people in Cyprus.
In general, the question refers to disappearances related to criminal offence and /or country conflict

Looking forward to hearing from you

Dear Ms Pardo,

Thank you for providing clarifications on the scope of your research
(budget for finding missing persons).

After an analysis of your request, we would like to note that it
constitutes an access to information (and not access to documents) as you
seek information about the funding made available to search for missing
persons.

Directorate-General for European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid
Operations (DG ECHO) does not provide such funding.

However, other Directorates-General of the Commission (Directorate-General
for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations – DG NEAR, and Structural
Reform Support Service) do and they provided the information below about
their instruments.

Please find below the data concerning Cyprus, Bosnia, Hercegovina and
 Kosovo.

Kind regards,
