Under the right of access to documents in the EU treaties, as developed in Regulation 1049/2001, I am requesting documents which contain the following information:

* Any evaluation, report or any other document reporting on developments with regards to the Rule of Law situation in Poland or the Article 7 proceedings against Poland
* Any minutes, agendas or other documents produced in preparation of or as a result of meetings between the Polish Government and the European Commission, with regard to the Article 7 proceedings against Poland or the Rule of Law situation in Poland
* Any email, letter or other correspondence from the Polish Government, other governments, MEPs, or non-governmental organisations (NGOs) to the European Commission related to the Article 7 proceedings against Poland or the Rule of Law situation in Poland
* Any documents submitted to the Council or the Council Presidency in preparation of the Article 7 hearings held on Poland and the Rule of Law situation, including those of 26th June 2018, 18th September 2018, and 11th December 2018

We refer to your e-mail dated 28/12/2018 in which you make a request for
access to documents, registered on 3/1/2019 under the above-mentioned
reference number.

Your application is currently being handled. However, we will not be in a
position to complete the handling of your application within the time
limit of 15 working days, which expires on 24/1/2019.

An extended time limit is needed as your application concerns a large
number of documents.

Therefore, we have to extend the time limit with 15 working days in
accordance with Article 7(3) of Regulation (EC) No 1049/2001 regarding
public access to documents. The new time limit expires on 8/2/2019.
