Dear Mr. Flanagan,

We refer to your application for access to documents dated 09/04/2018 and
registered on 10/04/2018 under the above mentioned reference number.

Your application is currently being handled. However, we will not be in a
position to complete the handling of your application within the time
limit of 15 working days, which expires on 02/05/2018.

An extended time limit is needed as the application concerns a large

public access to documents. The new time limit expires on Tuesday,
29/05/2018.

We apologise for this delay and for any inconvenience this may cause.

Yours faithfully,

Dear Communications Networks, Content and Technology,

Please pass this on to the person who reviews confirmatory applications.

I am filing the following confirmatory application with regards to my access to documents request 'Assessment of applications to the High Level Expert Group on Fake News and Online Disinformation'. REF: GESTDEM 2018/2027.

On 09 April, I made a request to access the following information:

Any document that relates to the assessment of applications submitted to the High Level Expert Group on Fake News and Online Disinformation,

Any documents that relates to the selection of the members of the High Level Expert Group on Fake News and Online Disinformation,

All communication between Member States in this request,

and cover letters submitted by applicants to the High Level Group.

On 10 April, you acknowledged this application and said it would be handled in 15 working days.

On 30 April, you extended the time limit by another 15 working days in accordance with Article 7(3) of Regulation (EC) No 1049/2001 regarding public access to documents.

The new time limit expired today, Tuesday 29 May and my application still has not been processed. By law, under all circumstances, you should have responded by now.

I am requesting an internal review take place to ascertain why the application was not handled in time, and for the application to be processed as a matter of urgency.

A full history of my request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: https://www.asktheeu.org/en/request/asse...
