Ceta stakeholders meetings

Response to this request is long overdue. By law, under all circumstances, Trade should have responded by now (details). You can complain by requesting an internal review.

Dear Trade,

Under the right of access to documents in the EU treaties, as developed in Regulation 1049/2001, I am requesting documents which contain the following information:

- a list of meetings of DG Trade officials and/or representatives (including the Commissioner and the Cabinet) and representatives of Businesseurope, Canada-EU Roundtable for Business (Cert), Business Council of Canada, Eli Lilly and Company and Fleishman-Hillard in which CETA’s negotiations were dealt with (between May 2009 and today).

- Minutes and other reports from these meetings.

- All the correspondence (including emails) between DG Trade officials and/or representatives (including Commissioner and Cabinet) and the representatives from Businesseurope, Canada-EU Roundtable for Business (CERT), Business Council of Canada, Eli Lilly and Company and Fleishman-Hillard in which CETA’s negotiations were dealt with (between May 2009 and today).

- The list of stakeholders who answered to the questionnaire on CETA of the European Commission in of May 2009 titled “QUESTIONNAIRE ON A COMPREHENSIVE ECONOMIC AGREEMENT WITH CANADA”.

We refer to your request for access to documents, registered on 18/04/2017
under the above mentioned reference number.

Your application is currently being handled. However, due to the heavy
workload on a large number of requests, we will not be in a position to
complete the handling of your application within the time limit of 15
working days, which expires tomorrow.

Therefore, we have to extend the time limit with 15 working days in
accordance with Article 7(3) of Regulation (EC) No 1049/2001 regarding
public access to documents. The new time limit expires on 06/06/2017.

We apologise for this delay and for any inconvenience this may cause.
