Commission & Member-States Comments re: France's "Law aimed at combating hate content on the internet"

Currently waiting for a response from Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs, they should respond promptly and normally no later than (details).

Charis Papaevangelou

Dear Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs,

As catalogued in the TRIS database, the Commission and the Czech Republic issued comments on notification number 2019/412/F (FRance's "Law aimed at combating hate content on the internet").

Under the right of access to documents in the EU treaties, as developed in Regulation 1049/2001, I am requesting all documents which contain the reactions of the Commission and the Member States to that notification.

I would like to obtain:
1. The comments of the Commission
2. The comments from the Czech Republic and any other member state
3. any other analysis, commentary or opinions on the notification 2019/412/F from the Legal Service, DG CNECT, DG GROW, DG JUST, or other DGs, including draft reports, memos, or other documents

In case that documents should be classified or cannot be released because of special treatment exceptions, I am asking for the name, source (e.g. the institution, DG and unit) and any reference number of these documents. If information under the scope of regulation 1049/2001 is not held by DG GROW but by the Commission, the Commissioner or another DG or Commission unit, I would like this information to be included in this request.

Yours sincerely,
Charis Papaevangelou
