Dear Adrián,

Thank you for your request to Eurostat. Please find enclosed the data we dispose of where there is a distinction between the Federal Republic of Germany and the German Democratic Republic (the first column in the files includes data for the former territory of the Federal Republic of Germany until 1990 and the second column includes data for Germany including the former German Democratic Republic from either 1960 onwards or 1985 onwards):

- Total population
- Infant mortality rates (Infant mortality rate represents the ratio of the number of deaths of children under one year of age during the year to the number of live births in that year. The value is expressed per 1000 live births)
- Life expectancy
- Divorce rates (The ratio of the number of divorces during the year to the average population in that year. The value is expressed per 1000 inhabitants)

The data we dispose of on food prices are only available as from 2003.
