Details of the reasons for the large increse in the sand eel quoat in the North Sea

Response to this request is long overdue. By law, under all circumstances, Maritime Affairs and Fisheries should have responded by now (details). You can complain by requesting an internal review.

Dear Maritime Affairs and Fisheries,

Under the right of access to documents in the EU treaties, as developed in Regulation 1049/2001, I am requesting documents which contain the following information:

In 2017 the quota for catching sand eels in the North Sea was increased by 550%. In regard to the setting of that quota please:

1 - provide all the evidence upon which the decision to allow this increase was based

2 - please provide details of all communications between you and organisations involved in the fishing industry in Denmark in which the sand eel quota was mentioned during the period between the setting of the 2016 quota and the setting of the 2017 quota

Yours faithfully,

Peter Ryder
