DG Justice: Acting DG Paraskevi Michou is leaving, DG JUST is completely left without senior management, retirement of DG JUST Director General Francoise Le Bail ?

The request was successful.

Dear Secretariat General,

Under the right of access to documents in the EU treaties, as developed in Regulation 1049/2001, I am requesting documents which contain the following information:

Background:

With the upcoming departure of Mrs Paraskevi Michou, DG Justice is completely left without senior management.

http://www.politico.eu/article/catherine...

The data protection file will remain without a permanent DG in charge of it for months to come as the position is externally advertised. Paraskevi Michou, currently the acting DG, is moving to the Secretariat-General, most likely to one of the three deputy secretary-general posts that must be filled.

Hereby I request:

(1) All documents, including internal and external correspondence, related to the retirement of Francoise Le Bail.

(2) All documents, including internal and external correspondence, related to the non-filling of the vacancy of the post of Director General of DG Justice.

(3) All documents, including internal and external correspondence, related to the external advertisement of the post of Director General for Justice.

I consider it in the public interest that the Commission provides clarity about the event(s), reason(s) and timing that led to the retirement of Francoise Le Bail. Also it is a public interest to provide clarity as to why such an important post, Director General, could not be filled through normal
procedures.

Yours faithfully,

Vinzenz Zinser

Dear Mr Zinser,

By mail dated 29 June 2015, you requested access to a number of documents
concerning the Directorate-General for Justice and Consumers.

Your application is currently being handled. However, we will not be in a
position to complete the handling of your application within the time
limit of 15 working days because it concerns documents held by different
Services which must be consulted. For this reason, we have to extend the
time limit with 15 working days, in accordance with Article 7 of
Regulation No 1049/2001.

We apologise for this delay and for any inconvenience this may cause.

So Mrs Francoise LeBail has left the position on 20.06.2014 and retired officially on 01.10.2014.

It seems there was no official Good Bye Event which is strange.

Since then the open position for a DG JUST Director has not beeen taken up by an official sucessor (as Mrs Paraskevi Michou is Acting DG).

Dear Secretariat General,

I still wonder that Mrs Le Bail has gone very quiet.

Re Question 3:

(3) All documents, including internal and external correspondence, related to the external advertisement of the post of Director
General for Justice.

It seems there is a misunderstanding. I am looking for the information on the - i suppose current advertisement of the for a Director General successor (as Mrs Michou as acting DG is leaving)

Yours faithfully,

Vinzenz Zinser

Dear Secretariat General, dear Mr Berger,

thank you very much. It was there but unfortunately I had overlooked it (as it looked as it was an old document).

My fault. I am sorry. The request is done.
