Documents and transcripts for the meetings happened between Rio Tinto and the Commission Representatives Maroš Šefčovič and Adam Romanowski
Dear The Innovation and Networks Executive Agency,
Under the right of access to documents in the EU treaties, as developed in Regulation 1049/2001, I am requesting documents which contain the following information:
For the meetings held on the 08/07/2021 and on the 25/10/2021 :
A list of all the participants in these meetings as well as the invitation list
Transcriptions of all the discussions in the meetings
Recordings in the case of online calls
The list should include: date, individuals attending and organisational affiliation, as well as the issues discussed;
- all minutes and other reports of these meetings and/or calls;
- all documents prepared for the purpose of the meetings issued both in preparation and after the meetings took place.
- all correspondence, including attachments (i.e. any emails, mail correspondence or telephone call notes) between the Directorate-General for Energy, including any Cabinet Members and/or officials, and any lobby group and/or industry representative discussing “Rio Tinto” and/or “Jadar Project” and/or “Lithium”.
To the extent possible, I prefer the documents in electronic format.
Should my request be denied wholly or partially, I kindly request to explain the denial or all redactions referring to specific exemptions in the regulation. Also I would expect the partial release of documents, in case of partial exemption according to article 4.6.

We regret to inform you that CINEA does not hold any documents that would
correspond to the description given in your application, as CINEA has not
participated in these meetings and does not hold any document related to
these meetings.
As specified in Article 2(3) of Regulation (EC) No 1049/2001, the right of
access as defined in that regulation applies only to existing documents in
the possession of the institution.
Given that no such documents, corresponding to the description given in
your application, are held by CINEA, we are not in a position to fulfil
your request.
You have lodged your application via a private third-party website, which
has no link with any institution of the European Union. Therefore, CINEA
cannot be held accountable for any technical issues or problems linked to
the use of this system.
