Dear European External Action Service,
Please pass this on to the person who reviews confirmatory applications.
I am filing the following confirmatory application with regards to my access to documents request 'Documents from ICMPD lobbying meetings'.
By law, the response to our request was due to be received on September 14 and we were told that we have to wait another 15 working days. While we do understand employees are under pressure and not responsible for delays, we are also under pressure to deliver on time-sensitive investigations.
A full history of my request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: http://www.asktheeu.org/en/request/docum...
Yours faithfully,
Andrea Glioti
Dear Mr Glioti,
We refer to your requests for access to documents registered under reference numbers 2020/134.
Following your requests, the EEAS divisions are searching for the documents which could potentially fall within the scope of your applications “All correspondence (including emails and WhatsApp messages) between the European External Action Service and the International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD) since 02/03/2016”.
Article 6(3) of the Regulation 1049/2001 provides that, in the event of an application relating to a very long or a very large number of documents, the institution concerned may confer with the applicant informally with a view to finding a fair solution. In accordance with the case law of the Union Courts, the proposal for a fair solution aims to balance the interest of the applicant against the workload resulting from the processing of the application in order to safeguard the interests of good administration (Judgments of 6 December 2001, Council v Hautala, Case C 353/99 P, EU:C:2001: 661, para. 30, and of 2 October 2014, Strack v Commission, Case C 127/13 P, EU:C:2014:2250, para.27).
Taking this into account and based on the above-mentioned provision, we would kindly ask you to specify the objective of your request, your specific interest in the requested documents (i.e. subject matters) and whether you could narrow down the scope of your request so as to reduce it to a more manageable amount of documents.
We will make every effort to process your request as quickly as possible. Please note that the time-frame necessary to process your request will depend on the number of documents identified and therefore to be examined.
We look forward to hearing from you with regard to the above with the view to being able to further process your request.
Thank you for your understanding.
Yours sincerely,

I am also still requesting

Dear European External Action Service,
Please pass this on to the person who reviews confirmatory applications.
I am filing the following confirmatory application with regards to my access to documents request 'Documents from ICMPD lobbying meetings'.
It seems highly unlikely that in all of the communications between the EEAS and the ICMPD there has never been any mention of Cyprus, Lebanon or migrant boats.
I also requested "All minutes and any other records related to" two meetings between EEAS officials and ICMPD lobbyists. These meetings took place and information about them is public (as per 014/839/EU, Euratom: Commission Decision of 25 November 2014 on the publication of information on meetings held between Members of the Commission and organisations or self-employed individuals). There must have been communications prior to these meetings in order to organise them and it is standard practice for minutes to be taken during meetings. So these documents, at least, should exist.
A full history of my request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: http://www.asktheeu.org/en/request/docum...
