Documents related to the EU Commission initiative entitled “Chemicals - Strategy for Sustainability (toxic-free environment)”

Dear Health and Food Safety,

In accordance with Regulation 1049/2001 and Regulation 1367/2006, ClientEarth, Corporate Europe Observatory and Health and Environment Alliance hereby request access to the following documents and/or information in any other medium in the Commission’s possession:

1. Documents and/or information drafted or received since 17 July 2020 by any personnel of the Directorate-General for Health and Food Safety (including the personnel involved in the implementation of Regulation (EC) 1107/2009 on “Plant Protection Product”) that contain/refer to the positions of individual companies (including public affairs consultancies and law firms) and/or industry associations, in connection with the “Chemicals - Strategy for Sustainability (toxic-free environment)” (the “Strategy”) (an initiative descried at: https://ec.europa.eu/info/law/better-reg...

2. Documents indicating the existence of any meetings held in person, by telephone or video conference, since 17 July 2020 involving any personnel of the Directorate-General for Health and Food Safety, that discussed the Strategy in the presence of representatives of individual companies (including public affairs consultancies and law firms) and/or industry associations, including any agendas and/or minutes/notes/summary reports of such meetings;

3. Documents containing written comments of any personnel of the Directorate-General for Health and Food Safety which were submitted in the inter-service consultations on the Strategy, which occurred between 1 June 2020 and 11 September 2020.

Please note that we are not interested in receiving personal data that identify particular individuals and such information may be redacted from any documents to be disclosed within the scope of this request.

Finally, we request that the documents/information falling within the scope of this request be made publicly available via the asktheeu.org site.
