EU External Border Checks

Response to this request is long overdue. By law, under all circumstances, Migration and Home Affairs should have responded by now (details). You can complain by requesting an internal review.

Dear Migration and Home Affairs,

Under the right of access to documents in the EU treaties, as developed in Regulation 1049/2001, I am requesting documents which contain the following information:

Please provide more detailed information on the percentage of EU travellers (and their third-country family members) that are checked against relevant databases at Schengen external borders. In a press release published by the Commission (link: http://europa.eu/rapid/press-release_MEM...), the figure is quoted as: between 1.5-17%, depending on the Member State and border crossing point. Please could you provide a breakdown of the figures by each border crossing if possible, and if not, a breakdown of the figures by Member State.

Yours faithfully,

Ed Smith
