Dear Mr George Thurley,

                Dear Mrs Nina Renshaw,

We refer to your e-mail dated March 22, 2018 in which you made a request
for access to documents, registered as Gestdem 2018/1741 EU-Mercosur and
Tobacco.

Your application is currently being handled. However, we will not be in a
position to complete the handling of your application within the time
limit of 15 working days. An extended time limit is needed as your
application concerns a large number of documents and it might be possible
that (part of) the documents requested originate from third parties which
have to be consulted. Therefore, we have to extend the time limit with 15
working days in accordance with Article 7(3) of Regulation (EC) No
1049/2001 regarding public access to documents. The new time limit expires
on 15.05.2018.

We apologize for this delay and for any inconvenience this may cause.

With kind regards,

Unit B2 – Crossborder Health care and Tobacco control

Dear Health and Food Safety,

Please pass this on to the person who reviews confirmatory applications.

I am filing the following confirmatory application with regards to my access to documents request 'EU-Mercosur and Tobacco'.

Since the extended deadline for providing documents passed yesterday (15/05/2018), and we have not received anything we are asking for a review of this.

By law, under all circumstances, we should have received a response by now. This lack of response is not satisfactory. We therefore ask you to respond as quickly as possible, and provide the relevant documents, or explain why you have not done so.

A full history of my request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: https://www.asktheeu.org/en/request/eu_m...

Yours faithfully,

George Thurley (On behalf of EPHA)
