EU state school uniforms policy

Permanent Representation of Malta to the EU has replied saying you have to contact another public body.

Dear Permanent Representation of Malta to the EU,

Under the right of access to documents in the EU treaties, as developed in Regulation 1049/2001, I am requesting documents which contain the following information:

Is it true that state school uniforms should be the same all over Malta and not differ by collage? Was it always this way? Or when did this change?

Yours faithfully,
Tanya Gauci

Cassar Anis at MaltaRep, Permanent Representation of Malta to the EU

Dear Tanya Gauci,

Thank you for your email.

Kindly note that Regulation (EC) 1049/2001 only applies to requests for
documents of the European Parliament, Council and Commission. It does not
apply to requests such as yours. As such, your email is being treated as a
regular request for information:

With reference to your questions below, I am informed by the Ministry for
Education and Employment that in Malta there is no legislation regarding
school uniforms. The Ministry for Education and Employment has also
informed us that there are open consultations with the public about
whether schools should have a uniform or not, and/or whether they should
be simplified.  The consultation closes at the end of October 2013.

For more information I would suggest that you contact the Ministry for
Education and Employment directly.

Kind regards,

Anís Cassar
