European BAC Cheating

Waiting for an internal review by European Council of their handling of this request.

Dear European Council,

Under the right of access to documents in the EU treaties, as developed in Regulation 1049/2001, I am requesting documents which contain the following information:

I am hereby asking, on behalf of a Europa Voice Club correspondent: what the European School is doing about the facilitating that took place during the BAC exams between 6/6/2012 - 15/6/2012 at Culham,

According to the inspector's role on the European School website

INSPECTORS OF THE EUROPEAN SCHOOLS

3.1 FUNCTIONS OF INSPECTORS OF THE EUROPEAN SCHOOLS

4. Functions in relation to the European Baccalaureate
For the written BAC
• monitor administrative arrangements - supervise the opening of the papers before each examination.

On the 6/6/2012, halfway through the exam after the inspector left, the counselor went to the board infornt of more than 60 pupils and added the name of the pupil they wanted to have extra 30-40 minutes each exams, this name was not on the board when the inspector was there, nor was it announced at the begining of the exam with the genuine ones.

At the end of each and every writen exam all the pupils had to leave except the ones with their name on the board, for genuine reasons or not.

Yours faithfully,

Europa Voice Club on behalf of a correspondent

Dear SECRETARIAT DGF Access,
forwarding the message received:-
"Dear Europa Voice Club

Thank you for kindly forwarding the response from the General Secretariat of the Council, Transparency Team, we would like to confirm that Commissioner Sefcovic has been aware of the fundamental reasons behind the cheating that took place June 2012.

Commissioner Sefcovic was cc'd the pre action protocol January 2011, the same legal documents that the Secretary General confirmed receiving, yet did nothing to address or resolve the problem, they simply forwarded them to Mr Sharron (Culham Director) to deal with it in his own way, that's when the planning for this took place.

We did NOT cc the pre action protocol to Mr Sharron because we were worried about the welfare of our older son who was still in the school, at some stage in the spring 2011, we became so concerned with what Dani was going through, that we wrote to the Secretary General asking her if she did forward the file to Mr S instead of addressing the issues herself.

After Dani become seriously sick, at the beginning of this year, it was brought to our attention how Mr Sharron planned to set him up, he also planned to reward through BAC cheating the boy who agreed to support him, and penalize the boy who refused to get involved (bribery and fraud case at the complaint board).

We have alerted Brussels since the beginning of this year of exactly what was going on with the BAC, they had plenty of time to take action and protect the BAC if they wanted to, but they chose to leave it to the the very same people who for the last 4 years abused their position in the school and betrayed our trust.

Kind regards

XXXXXXXX - Europa Voice Club correspondent

Yours sincerely,

Europa Voice Club
