Dear Mr Fanta,

We refer to your email of 1 March 2022 in which you make a request for
access to documents pursuant to Regulation (EC) No 1049/2001 of the
European Parliament and of the Council of 30 May 2001 regarding public
access to European Parliament, Council and Commission documents
(hereinafter ‘Regulation 1049/2001’), registered on the same day under the
above-mentioned reference number.

By your application, you request access to the following:

‘[…] All documents explicitly mentioning or otherwise relating to the
practice of crypto-currency mining, as well as relating to the energy
consumption of crypto-currencies such as Bitcoin or Ethereum. My request
includes all communication with other EU officials, member state officials
and stakeholders on the subject, including e-mails and minutes of meetings
and briefing notes. This specifically is meant to include meeting minutes
and follow-up exchanges on a call with Swedish and German officials on
February 3, 2022. […]’

We take note that parts of your request for access to documents under
GestDem 2022/1252 overlap with your previous request GestDem 2022/0079
introduced on 6 January 2022. With regard to these overlapping parts we
would like to draw your attention to the fact that our initial reply under
GestDem 2022/0079 was sent to you on 21 February 2022 and that you
requested a review of our position taken which is pending with the
Secretariat-General at the moment. For this confirmatory application you
will receive a separate reply from the Secretariat-General.

With regard to the newly introduced part of your request GestDem 2022/1252
that you can find in bold above, we understand that it does not coincide
with your previous request GestDem 2022/0079 for which a confirmatory
application is pending. We would therefore like to ask if you agree with
limiting your request under GestDem 2022/1252 to the part marked in bold
above?

Please send your reply to the following e-mail address:

Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

Yours faithfully,
