Follow-up request regarding the EU - US working group

The request was partially successful.

Dear Justice (JUST),

Thank you for the transmission (JUST/C3/JOO/ac/ARES
(2013) 3111502) of the documents I requested.

As mentioned in the letter by Attorney-General Holder of 1 July (doc.Ref. ARES(2013)2557726) and according to Regulation 1049/2001, I hereby request access to documents which contain the following information:

- all communication related to the security clearances of the participants;
- the nominations sent by the EU Commission in reply to the Attorney General;
- the minutes of the first meeting, on 8 July, and the agenda for the upcoming meeting.

under Regulation No 1049/2001 regarding public access to documents.

Your application is currently being handled. However, it refers to
documents of the Council and therefore we need to consult that institution
as regards the disclosure of this document.

Consequently, we have to extend the time limit with 15 working days in
accordance with Article 7(3) of Regulation (EC) No 1049/2001 regarding
public access to documents. The new time limit expires on 4/10/2013.

We apologise for this delay and for any inconvenience this may cause.

Could you please explain what has caused the breach of the legally binding time limit?

Dear Justice (JUST),

Thank you for handling my request. On 18 September, you have asked for a new time limit which expired on 4/10/2013.

Please note that on 1 November, your response will be four weeks overdue - on that date I will be obliged to make a complaint to the Ombudsman.
