Frontex copyright policy
From: Martina Tombini
Dear European Border and Coast Guard Agency,
Under the right of access to documents in the EU treaties, as developed in Regulation 1049/2001, I am requesting documents related to your copyright policy.
As I noted that at the beginning of this year you changed your sentence on copyright (the one you put at the end of each reply to access to information applications), I am interested to know on which document this change is based and when the policy was officially introduced. I am also looking for any document generated or received by Frontex containing legal advice on this policy.
Below are two examples where you can see the two sentences I am referring to:
1. “The copyright rests with Frontex and the existing rules on copyright may limit your right to reproduce or exploit the released documents”.
2. “The copyright rests with Frontex and making this work, communicated solely to you in this form and forum, available to third parties in this or other form without prior authorisation of Frontex is prohibited. Please note that Frontex does not assume liability stemming from the use or misuse of these documents”.
Please note that I have sent you a scan of my ID-card in a separate email.
Many thanks in advance.
