Your request concerns the documents which contain information on the staff
grading structure of the European Commission's civil service, on how
grading structures differ between Directorates-General, and on the powers
and authority of each grade.

Please note that the issues you refer to in your request are governed by
the Staff Regulations of Officials and Conditions of Employment of Other
Servants of the European Union. I draw you attention in particular to
Articles 5 and 6 and Annex I to the Staff Regulations which apply to
officials across all Directorates General of the European Commission as
well as other EU institutions, bodies and agencies. Please note that there
are different grading rules for different categories of other servants of
the EU that can be found in the part entitled Conditions of Employment of
Other Servants of the European Union of this document.

The requested document is accessible online in the EUR-lex database which
provides free access to European Union law and other documents considered
