Dear Agriculture and Rural Development,

Under the right of access to documents in the EU treaties, as developed in Regulation 1049/2001, I am requesting documents which contain the following information:

- Any study, impact assessment, forecast, paper or other document - commissioned or authored by any part of the European Commission or received from third parties (lobby group, NGO, academic, consultant, or other) - that assesses the impact of a Transatlantic trade deal on the EU farming sectors and farmers (all: vegetables, cereals, dairy, meat, poultry, and other), and/or on the farming sectors and farmers in any particular member state(s).

- a list of meetings with detailed minutes and any other reports of such meetings between DG AGRI's officials (including the Commissioner and his Cabinet members) and other DGs and/or third parties (lobby group, NGO, academic, consultant, or other) where this topic ("the impact of a Transatlantic trade deal on the EU farming sectors and farmers (all: vegetables, cereals, dairy, meat, poultry, and other), and/or on the farming sectors and farmers in any particular member state(s)") was discussed.

(Held, commissioned or received between June 2011 and today)

Should my request be denied wholly or partially, please explain the
denial or all deletions referring to specific exemptions in the
regulation. Also I expect the partial release of documents, in case
of partial exemption according to article 4.6.

Do not hesitate to get back to me should you need any further
information which could facilitate your research.

Thank you for your assistance.

Yours faithfully,

Nina Holland

Dear Madam,

We refer to your e-mail dated 12/03/2015 in which you make a request for
access to documents, registered on 12/03/2015 under the above mentioned
reference number.

Your application is currently being handled. However, we will not be in a
position to complete the handling of your application within the time
limit of 15 working days which expires on 07/04/2015.

After having received the feedback from the responsible units of DG AGRI
that treat your request, I would like to inform you that the handling of
your request will take several weeks and an extended time limit is needed
as it covers a very large time-span (from 2011 until today) which
respectively will cause an excessive workload.

The standard time period for the response would not be sufficient and for
this reason it cannot be carried out within the normal time limits set out
in Article 7 of Regulation (EC) 1049/2001.

However, the Regulation also provides for a possibility to confer with
applicants in order to find a fair solution when an application concerns a
very large number of documents. Article 6(3) provides that "in the event
of an application relating to a very long document or to very large number
of documents, the institution concerned may confer with the applicant
informally, with a view to finding a fair solution".

Based on this provision, we would kindly ask you to extend the deadline
until 29/05/2015. Please let us know if this date is convenient for you.

If you have any questions concerning this proposal, you can contact us by
e-mail to: [1][email address]

Thank you in advance for your understanding.

Yours faithfully,
