"containing the following information: would the following areas, if they
became independent states, be classed as non-EU members from the point of
independence unless and until an application for the independent state to
join the EU had been accepted:

In accordance with Regulation (EC) No 1049/2001 regarding public access to
European Parliament, Council and Commission documents, your application
will be handled within 15 working days. The time limit will expire on 29
January 2015. In case this time limit needs to be extended, you will be
informed in due course.

the following information: would the following areas, if they became

independence unless and until an application for the independent state to

In this respect, I would like to inform you that your application is
currently being handled by the Legal Service. However, in view of the
number and nature of the other requests, including yours, attributed
lately to our service, we have not been in a position to complete the
handling of your request within the limit of 15 working days, which
expires today. In these circumstances, we have to extend the prescribed
period by another 15 working days (the new deadline expires on 19 February
2015). In any case, I can assure that we will do our utmost to send you
the reply in the shortest time possible. We apologise for this delay and
for any inconvenience this may cause.
