Unfortunately, we will not be able to send you the reply within this
extended time limit as the consutations regarding your file are still

Dear Sir,
You have been informed by the Secretariat-General that twenty boxes of
documents related to the situation of Romanian orphanages and childcare
system as well as to EU-funded child protection projects in Romania
covering the period 1990-1995 are available in the Historical Archives of
the European Commission.
It was proposed to grant you access to these documents in a Commission
reading room in the Commission premises in Brussels, in line with
Regulation (EC) No 1049/2001.
Since you have not been able to agree on this fair solution proposal, your
access to documents request with ref. EASE 2024/1190 has been closed.
Therefore, we are closing your access to documents request with reference
EASE 2024/1441, since it also concerns documents available in paper format
in the Historical Archives of the European Commission.
Thank you.
Kind regards,
NEAR ACCDOC Team
Dear Secretariat General of the European Commission,
DG NEAR is creating confusion by putting here a comment that is meant for this request.

As you can see below, I had agreed on 23 April 2024 to the proposal to access the documents in a reading room in Brussels. Pls let us know when and where , so that we can prepare for someone to access the documents and scan them.
Yours faithfully,
Arun Dohle

Dear [email address],
Thank you.
We have received the documents and had them scanned at our expenses.
We fail to see how copying documents is less time consuming than scanning them. Let alone the waste of paper and the delivery cost.
Please continue the preparations for access in your reading room.
Yours sincerely,
Arun Dohle

Dear Secretariat General of the European Commission,
Please pass this on to the person who reviews confirmatory applications.
I am filing the following confirmatory application with regards to my access to documents request 'Letter of Office MEP Elmar Brok'.
Considering that the autor of the letter is - as far as our analyses show,s - a public person, we request the blackening to be undone - or limited to names/adresses of third persons. And that children are made irrecognizable on pictures. Instead of bluntly blackening full pages.
It is in the public interest to have full transparency on how the European Commission is being worked on by lobbyists and interest groups on sensitive issues such as the Romanian Children File.
A full history of my request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: https://www.asktheeu.org/en/request/lett...
