Dear Secretariat General of the European Commission,
Please pass this on to the person who reviews confirmatory applications.
I am filing the following confirmatory application with regards to my access to documents request 'Letters to Oettinger and Timmermans sent per registered mail by Mrs. Roelie Post'.
In case of concern of privacy, please contact Mrs Roelie Post about this.
You may know that this issue is fully in the public domain since 2007. Numerous newspaper particle, documentaries, podcasts have been broadcasted worldwide. All this has resulted in a resolution that was unanimously adopted by the Dutch Parliament in 2019.
Considering the above, to refuse access because of the protection of the privacy of the individual concerned seems not to make any sense.
As for the public interest, there is growing interest in the subject of trafficking for children for adoption. Since the presentation of the Dark Side of Adoption, including the movie THE TRAFFICKERS, at the European Parliament in November 2018, there have been more and more national investigations launched. Some governments have offered apologies.
All this is closely connected to the European Commission's treatment of the Task Manager of the Romanian Children File. It is, therefore, in the public interest, the public good, to understand how whistleblowers are being dealt with. This also in view of future whistleblowers who need to understand the institution's attitude and actions towards whistleblowing.
Furthermore, in a similar request a precedent was created by providing public access to the requested ARES Fiche:
https://www.asktheeu.org/en/request/6135...
A full history of my request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: https://www.asktheeu.org/en/request/lett...
Yours faithfully,
Arun Dohle

Dear SG ACCES DOCUMENTS,
Re: GESTDEM 2021-5166, 2021-5167, 2021-5168, 2021-5327
The requests for access to documents concerned are rather simple.
Since August your services have not finalised internal consultations.
This delay causes an immense inconvenience for both our organisation and the whistleblower concerned. In fact, it goes further than inconvenience, it adds insult to injury. Most importantly it adds additional material and immaterial losses.
We kindly request a final reply before end of next week, after which we will need to inform both the Dutch and the European Parliament about the way this all has been dealt with.
Yours sincerely,
Arun Dohle
