LNG imports from the United States

Response to this request is long overdue. By law, under all circumstances, Trade should have responded by now (details). You can complain by requesting an internal review.

Dear Access to Documents Unit at DG Trade,

Under the right of access to documents in the EU treaties, as developed in Regulation 1049/2001, I am requesting documents which contain the following information:

All communication (including letters, e-mails and faxes) as well as any meeting records (including agendas, participant lists, Commission briefing papers and minutes) between officials at DG Trade (including the Commissioner and her cabinet) and

1) The office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR) including all staff;
2) The office of the United States Secretary of Commerce including all staff;
3) Representatives of European businesses, business associations and lobby consultancies;
4) Representatives of US businesses, business associations and lobby consultancies;
5) Other officials of the European Commission, including DG ENER,
DG ENVI, DG CLIMA and the office of the President of the European Commission

on the issue of liquefied natural gas (LNG) imports from the United States into the European Union between 1. January 2018 and 30 September 2019.

Dear Mr Flues,
 
We refer to your access to documents request registered on 23/10/2019
under the above mentioned reference number.
 
Your application is currently being handled. However, due to the heavy
workload of a high number of requests, we will not be in a position to
complete the handling of your application within the time limit of 15
working days, which expires on 14/11/2019.
 
Therefore, we have to extend the time limit with 15 working days in
accordance with Article 7(3) of Regulation (EC) No 1049/2001 regarding
public access to documents. The new time limit expires on 05/12/2019.
