Luca Jahier travel expense
Dear European Economic and Social Committee,
Under the right of access to documents in the EU treaties, as developed in Regulation 1049/2001, I am requesting documents which contain the following information:
On 11 May, 2020 at 9.30, Mr Luca Jahier posted a video of himself being driven by a chauffeur from Italy (?) back to Brussels.
I am requesting information of any associated expenses and/or travel costs (including salary of the driver) for this trip. I am also requesting information in terms of kilometres traveled, departure point, type of vehicle driven, and duration of the trip.

Dear Mr Nielsen,
We refer to your request dated 03/07/2020: please note that the presence
of the President in Brussels was essential for the proper running of the
EESC's activities during this very difficult moment. Displacement was
very difficult and this exceptional mission was therefore the best
solution in order to repatriate the President to good health and safety
conditions for him and the Committee (the President did not come into
contact with other people during the trip).
Below please find the additional requested information:
mission of the EESC President due to working obligations from Turin Italy
to Brussels Belgium.
• point of departure: Turin, the President’s domicile
• Associated travel expenses (including driver’s salary):
NA with regard to the salary of the driver. The driver was accustomed to
security measures to be taken. He received mission allowances EUR 270
Hotel expenses EUR 174
Other costs: Fuel and tolls approximately EUR 200.
• vehicle type: BMW 530e Hybrid plug in, fitted with Plexiglas of
separation between driver/passenger, masks, gloves, disinfectant gel
• travel time 3 days and two nights. From Saturday morning to Monday
evening, including two hotel nights and the necessary rest breaks for the
driver
• kilometers traveled: 2208
