Minutes of 6 meetings with chemicals industry on TTIP

The request was refused by Trade.

Dear Trade,

Under the right of access to documents in the EU treaties, as developed in Regulation 1049/2001, I am requesting documents (including email correspondence and minutes/notes of meetings) concerning meetings with DG Trade officials on the following dates and with the following stakeholders:

2015 02 05, 2nd Annual EU-US Trade Conference Sector-specific breakout session: Chemicals and Pharmaceuticals (Meeting No. 46)
2015 04 16, Chemicals industry (Meeting No. 109)
2015 04 23, BASF (Meeting No. 115)
2015 04 28, European Crop Protection Association (ECPA) (Meeting No. 118)
2015 05 19, Dow Chemical Company (Meeting No. 134)
2015 06 01, EU Conference on endocrine disruptors (Meeting No. 150)

You will note that these meetings have been listed by DG Trade in response to a request (GestDem 2015/5085) by Pia Eberhardt (see www.asktheeu.org/en/request/stakeholder_.... The Meeting No. provided in parenthesis refers to that given in the list of meetings supplied by DG Trade on 11 February 2016. However, as it was indicated in DG Trade's response that DG Trade would only offer a more precise date of delivery for the remaining part of the request (including minutes and correspondence relating to the 218 meetings listed) towards the end of March 2016, I am requesting minutes and correspondence related to these 6 specific meetings only, in the hope that this can be dealt with promptly and within the 15 day response period.

Yours faithfully,

Rachel Tansey,
on behalf of Corporate Europe Observatory (CEO)

Dear Ms Tansey,

Thank you for your message and request for access to documents dated 12 February 2016. You mention in your request that the meeting documents that you seek access to are part of a request already filed by Ms Eberhardt (2015/5085) who represents the same organization as you, Corporate Europe Observatory. In this case we consider your request to be a duplicate and we can unfortunately not register it and satisfy your wish to have some documents of Ms Eberhardt's request more promptly than what has been communicated to her. We need time to assess the documents pertaining to the list of 218 meetings and are planning to send the documents in batches, starting next month.

We thank you for your understanding.

Best regards,
DG TRADE
