Monitoring of social media content about irregular migration

Response to this request is long overdue. By law, under all circumstances, European Border and Coast Guard Agency should have responded by now (details). You can complain by requesting an internal review.

Dear European Border and Coast Guard Agency,

In its communication dated 29.9.2021 (reference #COM(2021) 591 final), the EU commission suggested that Frontex "should [...] cooperate with third countries in this area, including through exchange of information and capacity building"

Under the right of access to documents in the EU treaties, as developed in Regulation 1049/2001, I am requesting documents which contain the following information:

- Statistics about the number of social media posts that have been reported to platforms in the context of monitoring of social media content on irregular migration, for the years 2019, 2020 and 2021
- copies of trainings conducted with third countries on the subject of social media monitoring of irregular migratory movements

Yours faithfully,

Anas Ambri

European Border and Coast Guard Agency
